This is Socrates

Socrates on office door

This is Socrates.  He’s a two year old Seal Point Siamese.  If you’re familiar with the breed, that will sum it up quite well.  If you’re not, suffice it to say that he’s now in his “terrible two’s” — comparable, I would guess, to a toddler.

He loves to sit in my lap and follow me around the house.  When I’m working in my office he’s taken to lounging across the top of the door where he can get a good view of what’s going on.

This is one side of a full-sized set of french doors.  I have no idea how he gets up there!

Eye to Eye with a Flamingo

Flamingo close up Miami

I’ve always been a fan of flamingos, in all their varied shades of orangey-pink (their color is a result of their diet).

Splish Splash

Dolphins at Mirage Resort Las Vegas

These ballerinas of the sea never fail to amaze me!  So much power, so much grace — I can watch them frolic for hours.

Moo Cows

Happy cows mean good milk.  These pals were waiting in line for milking.

3 Days Old

calf 3 days old

This little calf was only 3-days old when I saw him.  I don’t actually hang out on with the cows, but on a press trip to Bellingham, I got to meet this little guy at a cheese farm.  What a cutie!

Shaggy Llama

This llama was shaggy, but friendly.  Don’t they have the cutest little faces?!

Caution: Sheep Crossing

Sheep crossing in Tuscany

The little town where I stay in Tuscany seems to have more sheep than people.  I don’t know that it’s actually true, it just seems that way, and they are certainly needed for all that delicious pecorino cheese.  It’s not uncommon for cars to stop to allow the sheep to cross the road.  The flock included lots of little lambs that were adorable!

Meet Your Big Brother

Misha & Socrates

Socrates, a seal point Siamese, is just a baby here, and meeting his big brother Misha, a rather large Bengal – Flame Point Siamese mix, for the first time.  First impressions are important.

These beautiful white peacocks call Isola Madre home.  In the middle of Italy’s Lake Maggiore, this island is one of the Borromeo’s, and is a beautiful nature preserve.

Beautiful But Deadly

This Lion Fish is a beauty of the sea, but is as deadly as it is beautiful.  The photo was taken at Shark Reef Aquarium at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas.
