Ripe for the picking on our hotel rooftop, this lemon was sweet and juicy, nothing like the bitter and pithy ones typically found at home. Lemons are found all over Italy, and I recommend trying them in a number of different ways. My favorite: limoncello (liqueur) and limon gelato.
Neighborhood Tuscan Antipasto

A delicious antipasto plate, prepared with products from the neighborhood market, makes a wonderful afternoon snack. These Tuscan specialties were accompanied with a local wine, and were the perfect bite to hold us over until the late dinner hours in Italy. It makes for a great picnic, too. Here you’ll see fresh pecorino cheese, two types of salami, and locally grown olives and tomatoes.
